Are you struggling to fix your loveless marriage? Here are some tips on how to make it work.
Realizing your once loving marriage has suddenly turned into a loveless marriage can be hard to understand. For some, it happens suddenly and for others, it can be a process that’s been building for years.
It’s a very sobering feeling to wake up one day and realize that your marriage has suddenly lost its “spark”. Instead the person you are sleeping next to is no longer your soulmate; but they have become your roommate instead.

While it takes work, there are ways that you can fix your loveless marriage. Simple steps, actions, and kind words can be a great starting point in getting your marriage back on track. If you feel as though your marriage needs help, here are some suggestions to start practicing and focusing on immediately.

How to Fix Your Loveless Marriage

Prioritize your spouse.

In all reality, the focus of your marriage should be on your spouse. In this day and age, it can be hard to make certain that nothing else is has your attention and focus on a consistent basis.

Retraining your thoughts and mind to put your spouse first is something that you need to work on doing.  Put down the phone, turn off the TV and tell your friends that that night out on the town will have to wait. If your loveless marriage needs help, it’s time to start immediately prioritizing your spouse.

Speak to your spouse how you want to be spoken to.

How do you expect nice words to come your way if you aren’t also speaking kindly to your spouse? Starting the day with a nice conversation, or finding simple ways to compliment them throughout the day is an excellent way to break down barriers. If you feel like saying something unkind to your spouse, think twice before letting those words leave your lips.

We all remember from our childhood the phrase, sticks and stones may break our bones, but words will never hurt me, right? The truth is, words hurt and remain in our memories for a very long time. Choose kind words over accusatory ones and watch how your loveless marriage will start to transform.

Forgive your spouse.

For anything and everything. What’s done is done, and if you are committed to making your marriage work, you have to forgive and move forward. Sitting in neutral over hurt feelings of the past isn’t healthy for anyone. If you’ve told your spouse that you’ve forgiven them, you have to move forward with those thoughts and emotions.

Ask your spouse what they need.

You aren’t a mind-reader, and neither is your spouse. Instead of wasting time and playing the guessing game about what your spouse needs, why not just ask them? Communicating about what you and your spouse feel is lacking in your marriage is huge!

And honestly, the same goes for you as well. If you have something on your mind that you really feel needs to happen in your marriage, you owe it to yourself and your spouse to have that conversation. Tiptoeing around the topic or conversation won’t help anyone to overcome the struggles of your loveless marriage.

Sit down, face-to-face, and have a conversation between the two of you about your needs, your wants, and how you each plan to move forward in a positive and committed fashion to make your marriage stronger, more intimate and more positive.

Be committed to your marriage.

Fixing your loveless marriage will take time and effort. Simply “going through the motions” isn’t going to fix anything. You and your spouse have to agree and give it your all to make certain you’re getting your marriage back on track. If you aren’t committed to making your marriage work, it’s going to show and it will end up being wasted effort and cause more frustration for both of you.

While you and your spouse may feel as though you are in a loveless marriage, it’s 100% possible to overcome. Try a few of the simple suggestions above and see how they alter the course of your marriage.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a “one size fits all approach” to marriage. However there are steps that you can take to make your marriage the perfect fit for you and your spouse. Show your spouse how much you care by putting your marriage first and watch how quickly the love returns!
